As In Nuclear fission atoms destroys turning into other atoms.. What makes them do so and why? ?
Can we say that any massive atom can be changed into any other atom with lesser mass than it? And what subatomic particles plays an important role in turning them so? And why are some atoms less massive and other more??

Nucleus is bound by the nuclear force. The energy of binding is about 7 MeV per particle. When nucleus becomes bigger, then they have more protons which repel each other. The nucleus becomes unstable. Therefore, some it loses positive charges in the form of alpha particles. But the super heavy nucleus, like uranium or plutonium, has no option other than breaking into to two or more parts.
