If there is media evidence of UK journalists surrounding D Cummings, during lockdown, would police have to investigate ?

    There is evidence, it is there for everyone to see. Should there be an investigation leading to prosecution? Yes.

    That's up to Dominic Cummings to investigate himself and pay for it with his own money, instead of wasting more tax payers coffers.  It would've been better if either he'd resigned or been sacked.  Boris Johnson is a bigger idiot than I thought he was, as other Conservatives have said that they lost faith in the PM after that fiasco.

    The media did physically approach him and they did appear to break social distancing laws.  They would use some ridiculous defence around 'necessity' in order to inform the public.  It would waste a load of money trying to prosecute them

    There certainly is evidence and the media are not immune from prosecution. 

    But the question would be what public interest would that serve as lockdown has ended, and would it be a responsible use of police resources to pursue what would be regarded as a political vendetta?
