Is Guam too close to China to ever become a state?

No it's because it's too important of a military position to allow it to become a state and acquire all the rights that come with being a state. You know what they did to Bikini Island, right?

Never going to happen. It's a US territory, formerly Spanish colonial possessions. A staging point for land invasion of Asia. Since the carriers and subs are non-coaling anymore.
