Can I use my mental illnesses as a defense in court?

Can I bring my medical records to show the judge? I got arrested for trespassing, got released and now I’m arraigned to see a judge in court. I have a lengthy mental health record

Can you?  Anyone CAN do anything.  The question is whether the evidence will be admissible and also taken into consideration by the judge.  As the cure (guardianship) might be worse than the disease, I suggest you think very carefully about what the loss of your freedom would mean if the judge agrees that your mental illness caused you to break the law.

The legal test for insanity is not the same as a diagnosis of mental illness. Most mentally ill people would fail to raise the defense in court.
