It's certainly a way of saying that you're either as dumb as dirt or an asshole who couldn't care less about other people's health.

As a cafe owner, I support the freedom of Americans to make decisions for themselves. As such, my cafe has the following policies:
•Employees are encouraged to wash their hands, but we will not force them because they may be allergic to certain soaps, or just prefer not to wash their hands.
•Cooks may have the belief that cooking chicken to only 100F is perfectly fine, and we will not tell them that they are wrong.
•Some of our cooks like to use the same knives on multiple ingredients, even those that might be allergens for our customers. That is their right.
•Some servers like to touch food as it's being served. If they are clean and healthy, there is no reason they shouldn't be able to. We trust them to judge if they are clean and healthy enough to touch food.
•Water temperature and detergent are very personal choices. We allow our dishwashing staff to decide how they would prefer to wash the utensils you will put in your mouth.
•Some may get sick, but almost every survives food poisoning. We think you'll agree that it's a small price to pay for the sweet freedom of no one ever being told what to do - and especially not for the silly reason of keeping strangers healthy.

It shows that you care nothing about others, not even your own family.

When you can't stay 6 ft away from others, it's pretty much so, yes.
