Can I bring a flask with alcohol on a commercial plane?
Can you bring metallic things through security?

Metal flask ok as long as its empty going through security
If you put alcohol in it after security ok
But it would be illegal to consume it on the flight, you can only consume alcohol the airline sells

The metal won't be the issue - the liquid will be subject to the normal restrictions.

You can bring metal items.
You cannot bring liquids in containers larger than 3.4oz (100ml) through security. Even if you have less liquid than that, it is container size that matters.
You can bring alcohol on board, but you cannot drink you own alcohol on board. You can only drink what they serve.

Metal is not a problem. Liquids are the problem. You can, as Raghav said, fill your flask in a bar in the airport after you get through security. However, if you get drunk and rowdy on the plane, they will have the police escort you out once the plane lands, and you'll be banned from that airline. They sell drinks on the plane- it's not any more expensive than buying them in the airport.

Yes you Can bring a metal flask into the airport and onto the plane. The only thing is that the flask has to be empty when passing through security. Once you pass through security there are usually several bars/alcohol stores you can buy alcohol and pour it into your flask to bring onto the plane. You Can not bring a flask with alcohol already in it. you will not pass security check as they will make you empty it out.
