Will spelling something wrong on a job application disqualify me?

A friend of mine informed me there is a position that pays well at a company he works for. I made sure my resume was good to go, and filled the application out. I checked over everything and once I submitted it, I noticed that where it asks for who referred me, I put an extra letter in his name! There isn't any way to undo this and now im worried they are just going to toss my application to the side. Is this an automatic DQ? His email is correct but where I put his first and last name, i put one extra letter in his last name.

    Not if they don't notice.

Some companies would disqualify you if they notice a spelling mistake.  Some wouldn't care.  Some would hold it against you but not disqualify you.

But no company can do anything about it if they don't notice it.

All you can do is cross your fingers. 🤞
