Why general aviation isn't so big in other countries like it is in the US?
There's more than 250.000 private aircraft and thousands and thousands of airfields in the US. Same doesn't happen in other countries that have way bigger population. The sky should be filled with planes I think.

Several reasons. First, is the cost of a private plane. A new single engine Cessna 172 with glass cockpit costs over $300,000. Add the cost of flight training, maintenance, fuel, insurance, and other incidentals, and a private plane quickly turns into a very large money pit. Even in an affluent country like the US, you have to be well up in the upper middle class to afford your own plane.
In some countries the government tightly controls the access to airspace. In China, for example, the People's Army Air Force controls all of the air over China. It often blocks large swaths of airspace for military use with little notice, forcing the civilian traffic into time and fuel consuming detours. General aviation gets lower priority than the military and commercial aircraft. Private aircraft operators often have to state their intention to fly for point A to Point B a day or two in advance, with no guarantee that permission to fly will be granted.
A third reason is that some countries don't have the infrastructure to support large general aviation sector. Many of India's airports, just to give one example, can barely cope with the current airline traffic. Add a couple of Piper Cherokees per hour that have to wait at the Hold Short line for the wake turbulence from the departing Boeing 777 to subside at a busy airport like Mumbai and you'll see the traffic really come to a standstill.

Money. We can afford what we do.

too bad for everyone that has no interest in flying with noisy planes flying around wasting fuel creating unnecessary pollution I like how clear the sky is recently with minimal air activity.

Cause we're RICHER than most other countries (plus we have more space).
