Why did that bartender twist the bottle at the end?

Hi. In this one episode of the TV show Gene Rodenberry's Andromeda, Seamus Harper pours a drink into Rhade's glass, and does a kind of quick twist motion with the bottle at the end. Why? Is this something bartenders normally do? What's the purpose of such a twisty motion? Thank you.

Playboy magazine was asked this many years ago. And their answer was to twist the bottle slightly to keep that last drop of wine from going anywhere-thus keeping it in the bottle.
