    It's essential in UK. We take pride in pronouncing things completely differently to the way they are spelt, so that visitors will get it wrong...

    eg

    Worcestershire Sauce is Woostuh Sauce (But the county is Woostuhshuh).

    Leicester Square is Lestuh Square

    Chiswick is Chizzick

    And as for the Welsh town:

    Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch ...

    My education worked well, it was me falling off the monkey bars & landing on my head that contributed to my lack of verbal fluency & inability to pronounce properly.

    No , the opposite , when I was eleven a teacher pointed out that I was writing and saying  FUTCHER instead of future  .
