Have a lot of bars gone broke in Japan?

I really feel for all the mama-san and masters trying to make a living in their tiny bars.

It seems okay.  Things have gone back to business as usual in the last couple of weeks as the restrictions have been lifted. The biggest thing is that now bars are allowed to open until midnight. They were encouraged to close at 8 pm until last month and these business hours are when they get the most profit.

There's an ”X-factor” that makes Eastern Asians relatively safe from the virus and scientists are trying to figure out what exactly that is.

Many countries have taken better care of small businesses and workers than the US has; some governments are paying the salaries of workers who aren't working. I can't find anything about that happening in Japan, but it seems likely.
