playing standard dvds on a high definition player?

I have hundreds of standard DVDs which I play on a standard player and watch on a uhdtv ....will the standard DVDs look better if I play them on a High definition player ie will the high definition player upscale basic discs to a higher than standard definition

    Video (and audio) signals can never have 

    or deliver more resolution than they started with.     


    However, some players do a better job than others with a specific signal.

    Somewhere along the line of going from the disk to the TV, the image will be upscaled.  It could be the player or the TV. Depends on how things are set up.
