do you need live plants in a crested gecko tank to have isopods?

could i just put in leaf litter for them instead?

i want to go bioactive for my crestie but dont want artificial lights because she isnt used to it, i dont want her to stop hanging out where she does and where i have the tank has good natural lighting.

im also going to get a bigger tank but in the same

it is also a dull day when i took the pic

Update 2:

im not talking about parasites, im talking about a cleanup crew in a bioactive tank

Cocoa fiber at the bottom, leaf litter on top. Live plants are not needed. I suggest watching AntsCanada to learn more about bio active enclosures

Cages are easier to clean with plastic plants or plants inside a flower pot. Cleanliness is most important when it comes to minimizing the chance of infections or parasites.
