What causes the video quality in dashcams to degrade over time?

If there's one thing I noticed about dashcams, it's how the straight lines look all jagged after several months of the dashcam recording HD videos. Is it the image processor, the power the unit is getting, or the SD card that causes it to have such degraded quality?

I'm guessing the Micro SD has a limited amount of read/write cycles before it decides to slow down and eventually become unusable.

electronics don't get stronger over time, they wear out with use. it is a fact of life that the first day you have an electronic device is the best it will ever perform.

now if the quality becomes unacceptable, you may want to check on your warranty.
