Is it possible for leukemia to randomly develop?

    Yes.  That is how many (most?) cases occur

    They do not know the exact cause, but people with leukemia have certain un usual chromosomes. Chromosomes are inherited, but the chromosomes themselves do not cause the cancer. It appears to be another case of an inherited propensity triggered by a variety of factors. Smoking, exposure to radiation or certain chemicals including those that treat other cancers, a family history of leukemia, or other genetic disorders like Down syndrome increase the risk to develop it.

    These triggers are random, but it's sciences rather than a totally random event.

    Since the exact cause is unknown, "randomly" cannot be fully ruled out.
