Whether you are Democrat or Republican, having sworn to God, why is there so much corruption in the US governance?

The party with the vast majority of corruption, the Republican party, uses religion and "god" as a handy excuse for the bad conduct. But that cover excuse is coming to an end as more and more people realize there is no empirical evidence proving a god exists and biblical "teachings" are really just survival strategies.
