Will volunteers stop helping if you complain about the quality of work they do?

Why would you want them to? If volunteers are doing inferior work, it is your duty to gently explain the proper way to do the job, and WHY IT IS PREFERRED. You don't help whatever cause you support by dissing the people who have joined you; And actually, if you have dedicated and thinking volunteers, you are the one who will probably get the boot. Volunteer organizations are organized to help others or to promote a just cause. There is plenty of room for educating fellow volunteers, but no reason to castigate people giving of their time and effort for doing something not to your liking.

I'm betting you are a hall proctor in your school.

Volunteers do that kind of work for themselves-not for anyone else. You don't like it? Fine. We are not here to give YOU some sort of adequacy.
