Could the afterlife actually turn out to be nothing more than merely just a hallucination if it were to exist in the real world?

Since it's common and not unusual for a dying person to experience some hallucinations.

Update:

So the afterlife may appear to be real but it's possibly not.

Do you always know that it is just a dream?  Our perception of matter is variable.  That is why we need help sometimes to bring us back to reality.  We are conditioned to believe what is real only by what we believe it is to be real.  Just like if someone told you something negative about your parent, and you believe your parent is perfect.  You will be reluctant to go along with it as if it is real.  What happens when we find something more real than this reality?  Will we say all of this is just a dream?

HUT(Holographic Universe Theory) Physics is rapidly gaining favor with physicists and high powered institutions.as more and more evidence piles up and its ability to explain Quantum entanglement. HUT also has evidence that CONSCIOUSNESS is a major part of the real Universe and explains things like the observer effect, etc.

This suggests that Consciousness goes on forever and we exist as part of the universe.  Consciousness exists in our brains and bodies, so it is suggested that we as "Units" of Consciousness simply inhabit our Human bodies as a form of "Energy" and after a while, when the body dies, continue to exist, and very likely take on another human body later on----and so on.----This is as far as we can go with conventional HUT , as from this point there are MANY MANY "spiritual theories" where any guess is as good as another as to further details.

But HUT does Strongly suggest an immortality of consciousness and likely something akin to reincarnation as Consciousnesses often continually re-inhabit new BODIES as older ones die---for purposes of being able to more directly interact with reality.---

So, at the very least, HUT suggests we, as Consciousnesses are essentially immortal entities and a part of the Universe itself, and an "Afterlife" for Humans is possible and probable-----

If it exists in the real world, it's not a hallucination.  If it's a hallucination, it can't exist in the real world.  You can't have it both ways, so pick one.

I'll just say that there are problems with the hallucination idea. If you're interested, you can read about the studies and decide for yourself.

Physicians who have written about the research include Peter Fenwick, Sam Parnia, and Pim van Lommel.

Skeptics typically argue that NDE can be explained by pathology of the brain, e.g., lack of oxygen. However, the NDE can occur when a person is simply in a life-threatening condition and there is no brain pathology. The expression "I saw my life flash before my eyes" was a cliche long before the first NDE studies. Van Lommel has said that the question of whether or not it's possible for a person to have a dim consciousness while the brain is in a "flat-line" state - no electrical activity - is irrelevant, because survivors report NDE events indicating a high level of consciousness, with detailed memories. There are numerous stories of patients reporting that they saw things in the hospital room or outside the room when they logically should have been unconscious, with verification of these stories. Ring and Cooper studied NDE stories told by blind people, including a few who reportedly were blind from birth and saw for the first time during their NDEs (Source, below).

  • Of course they are hallucinations, very sick people don't just imagine that they see friends and relatives they also imagine that they are at the beach or that there are monkeys at the window, that obviously isn't true so I don't know why you would think that any of their other delusions are.

What evidence do you have for an afterlife?  Hence, imagination.

The so called afterlife exist in another level of energy. It seems to be that there is something like reincarnation but the knowledge is saved by another energy layer some people still have access to it (not voluntary). The afterlife will not be a paradise the Christians think - it will be hard work.
