If you get laid off, collect unemployment, start new job, get fired -- do you get to keep your unemployment benefits?

    Depends on why you get fired.

    Sometimes.  Usually not.  But it depends on why you were fired.

    No you do not. You could appeal why you were fired with the state. If they feel you were unjustly terminated, you would begin receiving checks after 6 weeks. Texas
