A luncheon, or at least that's what my family calls it.

A wake is not lunch. If everyone comes over for lunch after a funeral, it's an after-funeral lunch. What else would you call it?

In some cultures, the gathering following a funeral is known as a luncheon, while in others, it is considered a wake.

IT is pretty much of a get together with family and friends. The luncheon can be held at the church, the funeral home, or a banquet room at a restaurant.
