None.  You are a glorified manager paying someone else your money to work for them.  Lowest of the low.  The corner Bodega owner has more control over their business than a franchise owner has.

The only benefit of owning a franchise is that you have the brand name of the parent company and people recognize brands.

    The drawbacks:

#1 You are not working for yourself, you are working for the parent company.  You have to run your business the way they tell you.  If you do not...no matter how much time, energy and money you have put in to it...they can take it away from you for something as simple as deciding to add 'Peach Pie' to your menu.

#2 Every Month..EVERY MONTH..you have to pay a fee to the parent company..Even if you do not make any money that month. You will ALWAYS have to pay this.  It will not stop...like a mortgage does.  You will have to pay it every month...no matter what.

#3 The parent company decides the hours you will be open.

#4 The parent company decides the way your place is decorated.

#5 You MUST buy all of your supplies from the parent company or an approved vendor and you MUST pay the price that the parent company decides even if you can get the same thing somewhere else cheaper.

#6 If the Parent company tells you to c;lose your location and move somewhere else...you have to do it.
