Are local timber yards cheaper than Bunnings in Australia ?

    Don't think so.  Bunnings are lowest price guarantee. If you can match it, they can beat it by 10%.

      Well I’m actually already here & have been for 30 years. On the coast though.

    Depends what you're shopping for, many ornate moldings which they can replicate and exotic timbers you won't find in bunning so there's no comparison.

      I’m going to try to build a small skiff/ boat from scratch, so I guess various plywood’s and timbers for framing. I’m totally new to this but want to get into a new hobby and gain some new skills
