I love Essa/Isa for a boy. Never heard it said with a z sound however. Its "ee suh"

It's okay especially in a Scandanavian family.

Spelled that way, an English speaker would pronounce it Ess-ah. It sounds like more of a female name than a male name.

For the Eezah pronunciation, you'd have to go with that spelling.

It sounds like a contagious disease.

I think the spelling/pronunciation might be confusing. I would pronounce Essa as ESS-uh.

For ee-zuh, I would go with Iza or Isa. It's okay but I prefer Asa (Ace-uh).

I don't like it and I would never use the name.

I bet people will not pronounce like you suggest it be pronounced.  They will say Ess-uh.  It is similar to Isa, a girl's nick name for Isabella or Isabelle.  I am not a fan of Essa for a boy.

I have no idea what language would pronounce "Essa" as "Ee-zah," but it's certainly not English, so you should expect his name to get mispronounced a lot as "EH-suh."
