Is it harmful for the laptop if it goes to sleep often?
I've noticed the default settings on Windows 10 are set for the laptop to go to sleep every 10 min on battery and 15 min. on plugin. But isn't it harmful if you let your sleep go to sleep every 10 or 15 min and wake it up again over and over again?

It won't do it any harm at all. If you don't want it to keep sleeping, change the settings.

These are the DEFAULT setting (or RECOMMENDED BY WINDOWS the guys who wrote the program). These are by no means the time schedule you have to live by. The times are adjustable. Heck it takes me longer to make a coffee and get a snack(or sometimes shorter if there are no snacks) It does NOT GO TO SLEEP IF YOU ARE ACTIVELY USING IT eg moving the mouse or typing on the keyboard. If you are reading fine text and you got a full screen of it and you are a slow reader then the damn thing goes to sleep on you midway through your read.
My sleep is set for never but then, I am not on a battery. Sleeping is just shutting down all the apps. so little battery drain occurs AND it is like closing your eyes for a minute and then open them.EVERYTHING IS RIGHT THERE...you have to do something at your end to prove a live body is sitting in front of the computer....a movie playing is from "the dark side" and the pc does not feel that...so it falls asleep.
It is only harmful to you if you are driving at a high rate of speed in a fast car, or jump out of a plane and have to wait 10 seconds to pull the rip cord but you fall asleep in 5 seconds. There is an issue.

Using laptops and tablets feel safe with sleep mode your place will be resumed no matter what happens If you put your PC into sleep mode and happen not to use if for a few days, the battery will simply deplete, your work will be saved, and the PC will shut down.

The system is designed to handle it although it may be more time consuming to have to wait for the system to resume. Rather change it to a longer delay if you are concerned.

Make up your mind then. Manage your time wisely. Work on the laptop continuously to keep it on then shut it down when you need to rest or do something else. Isn't that the right thing to do anyway?

Not harmful but it does save the battery.
