What's the DNC's plan for Biden? How do you form a campaign strategy for a guy you can't let out in public?

Between now and the election there are gonna have to be rallies, live television appearances, town hall set ups, not to mention actual debates. 

What are they gonna do? They can't just let him out to run and speak freely, but they also can't just lock him in the basement til November.

Hillary had to stay out of sight as well.  She mostly attended closed door fundraisers.  I imagine the Joe Biden team will use a similar approach.
