Why isn't the government banning citizen gun ownership now?

Right now because all of the people are rioting and being dangerous, we need to take away all guns from everyone so that people can complain all they want about that cop and that africo-americo man but they can't do anything about it.

Why? Because Lunatic Left  Democrap not POTUS now. People need guns for self-defense from looters. You LLDs want take away citizens' best means of self-defense while releasing hundreds of looters upon them. That is evil, dumb and insane. You sound like Garry the Democrap Troll.

The only things stopping governments from banning gun ownership are the 2nd Amendment, President Trump, the Supreme Court of the US and the US Senate.

Because only law-abiding, responsible, noncriminals would comply. Anyone who would use a gun in a crime would keep theirs.

Make no mistake it will happen and very soon!

Some of the answers here are laughable.

If a mass of people desigded to storm your home and even f every family member was armed the mob would still win.

That unless every family member had a gatling gun!

Still what fun to live in a country where you are so scared you have to be armed to the teeth!

Your answer is laughable. If a few people in a mob are shot, the others will leave quickly. They want easier pickings.

The covid-19 spoke loudly to new liberal gun owners that guns have been deemed a necessary commodity.

    why? imagine this.

rioters have been calling out murdering AND RAPING white women and children.

imagine being in your home, with your wife and kids, and you see the rioters breaking into peoples houses and just taking what they want and destroying the rest.

the rest of the world would be begging for mercy. sitting in their own damn house terrified.

but USA citizens would grab the damn AR15, hide the women and children, secure the house, and the muzzle at the door and hope that SOB holds, because if it doesnt. god is going to have to sort em out.

Let's see: ban guns to make a "safer riot". By that logic, then "they" should ban: sticks, knives, fire-bombs, clubs, fists, feet, assorted "hand-held assault devices", out-of-towners, looters, drinking on the street, masks to hid the perp's identity, and overall "not-nice-behavior".

Alternative skill set to limit damage: Arrest, Detain, no-bail, any one caught in malicious acts against people, public/private property, disobeying the lawful commands of "police, etc".

Which option seems more logical? Allow destruction, or stop destruction.

These riots have nothing to do with someone that these rioters don't even know. The bad cops with be indited, and I hope get life in prison, or worst. They are a poor example of people in uniform to serve and protect.

Fire bombs are more dangerous than guns. There is no way to ban 300 million guns.

They’re in the process of enacting a 30% tax on guns and ammo into law

So far, that's just virtue-signaling on the Democrats' part.
