I know around 3,500 words in French. Is learning Spanish at the same time a bad idea?

Context: As stated, I know around 3,500 words in French. I attempted to learn Spanish about 2 years ago, but then I dropped it after not that much time, and now I want to attempt to learn it again. So, would continuing to study French while starting back up on Spanish be a bad idea?

Nobody is the same, so you have to try it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Since they are both Romance languages it might be easier to learn them both at the same time if you can keep the two separate. To me the primary reason for learning both at the same time is the similarity in some of the words.
