Are you looking forward to Trump removing Section 230 of the Communications & Decency Act of 1996?

Trump's executive order aims to remove Section 230 of the Communications & Decency Act of 1996. Section 230 says "No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider."

Once Trump removes section 230, anybody will be free to sue any Internet forum for any content they find offensive. Won't it be great?

If Internet forums can be sued over their content, then they would start policing their content so they won’t get sued. And that means in turn that they would have to prevent Trump from lying or get sued. Has Trump figured out yet that his Presidential order could end up closing his Twitter account?

No, it's when they start policing content that invalidates their protection against liability.

No. Trump wants to enforce section 230. He wants to punish social networking sites like twitter when they don't act as legal platforms but instead act like legal publishers. Platforms DON'T editorialize and limit free speech. That falls in the realm of legal publishers. Biden is the one who has said he wants to remove section 230. Biden works for his wealthy donors who want to close down platforms and limit freedom of speech online because their ruling class structure is dying and being exposed. He will silence critics online if he becomes president.

You're misinformed.  Which is typical of the "orange man bad" herd.  Trump is not eliminating that at all.  Here's a relevant section from the E.O.:

"Prominent among the ground rules governing that debate is the immunity from liability created by section 230(c) of the Communications Decency Act (section 230(c)). 47 U.S.C. 230(c). It is the policy of the United States that the scope of that immunity should be clarified: the immunity should not extend beyond its text and purpose to provide protection for those who purport to provide users a forum for free and open speech, but in reality use their power over a vital means of communication to engage in deceptive or pretextual actions stifling free and open debate by censoring certain viewpoints."

Basically, an entity which decides upon what content and viewpoints can be expressed cannot enjoy the immunity from liability granted to things like ISPs.  He wants 230 enforced as written.

That's a good point because Twitter, in this case, is not supposed to edit user content but only to be the vehicle for it. It's pretty clearly defined.

Relax, there doug. That is considered editorializing. How'd you yourself like a tag on everything you write. Of course, not.

Seems like a sure way to get himself banned from everywhere, so it is a good thing.

Liberals want it gone too, now they suddenly don't??  Even Biden wants to get rid of the tech companies carve out.  He said so repeatedly for years.

You are either a utility or a publisher.  Pick your lane, you can't ride both and expect the privileges afforded a utility

Of course I'm not looking forward to that. It's just another hallmark of a fascist dictator. He's the scum of the earth.
