Show molarity as pH values: [H3O+(aq)]= 2.1x 10-3 mol/L [H3O+(aq)]= 1x 10-5 mol/L [H3O+(aq)]= 2.5x 10-7 mol/L [H3O+(aq)]= 7.3x 10-9 mol/L?

    [H₃O⁺(aq)] = 2.1 × 10⁻³ mol/L

    pH = -log[H₃O⁺(aq)] = -log(2.1 × 10⁻³) = 2.7

    [H₃O⁺(aq)] = 1 × 10⁻⁵ mol/L

    pH = -log[H₃O⁺(aq)] = -log(1 × 10⁻⁵) = 5

    [H₃O⁺(aq)] = 2.5 × 10⁻⁷ mol/L

    pH = -log[H₃O⁺(aq)] = -log(2.5 × 10⁻⁷) = 6.6

    [H₃O⁺(aq)] = 7.3 × 10⁻⁹ mol/L

    pH = -log[H₃O⁺(aq)] = -log(7.3 × 10⁻⁹) = 8.1

    pH = - log [H+]

     

    For 1 * 10^-7, you should get a pH of 7.  Pull out your calculator.
