What receiver/amp do I need to buy to hook up my 30 year old Bose 901's and equalizer? In the past it had to hook up through the tape deck.?

Those are 8 ohm speakers which most receivers can handle.  I bought a factory refurbished Harman Kardon receiver for $200 on Ebay and it is a beast and sounds sweet!

Look for a receiver with a tape 2 monitor.  This is for your EQ

Download an (old) manual online.  You need an amp and a preamp with the input and output ports required.  You do not need a tape deck.
