The power, P, dissipated when a 6 volt battery is put across a resistance of R ohms is given by P=36/R.?

What is the rate of change of power with respect to resistance?

    Don't let the non-standard letters put you off.  It's just the same as finding dy/dx when y = 36/x.

    dP/dR = -36/R²
