Can u take a dogs x-ray with a metal-spiked colar on or is it bad for the dog?

The metal messes with the x-ray machine. all metal has to be removed. It could stay on if the hip was being x-rayed, that is far enough away. It is best just to remove the collar & let the clinic use their leashes.

It doesn't effect the dog. It makes the x-rays flawed.
The word you can't spell is collar.

Metal interferes with xrays.
Normally colar would be removed before an xray is taken.

The reason you're asked to remove metal is to give the radiologist an unobstructed view of the area of interest. Basically, you remove metal because it blocks anatomy. ... The reason metal appears bright on the X-ray image is that it is extremely dense, so X-radiation does not penetrate it as well as it does soft tissues. Yes, you can keep metal objects on.
