Is it taboo to use the term "Germania" in Germany?

If so, why? What does it imply in Germany?

It isn't taboo. It's just the Latin name for Germany, a.k.a., "Deutchland" to Germans. Germans are aware of their Latin name. The name isn't associated with racism or prejudice or bigotry or anything else that could give it a negative connotation. Basically, it's no different than using Britannia in the UK or Lusitania in Portugal.

    • Even today it is the name of many frats here in Deutschland
