I can't get my monitor to display?

Update:

I just built a new computer. It can't read my monitor. How am I supposed to trouble shoot anything if I can't see anything? I've tried plugging it into the graphics card and the motherboard and nothing! I have a disk for the motherboard's drivers, but I can't get it to read it. Not without being able to see. How do you do that?

Unplug the monitor from the wall.

Unplug the cord from the back of the monitor.

    Wait one minute.

Plug the monitor cord back into the Monitor and a known-good wall outlet.

    Press the Monitor power button.

If this still does not work, try with known-good power cord.

It was the RAM. Seriously, people, if you've never built a PC, don't answer.
