do ovens extract smoke?

    Not usually, unless something has bubbled over onto the oven base, or somethings burning.

    Yes, when your last dish burned or bubbled over.

    Or when you leave the pizza box from last night in there and turn it on the next day.

    Some ovens include an overhead vent for extracting smoke, but the wall has to be set up with exhaust ducts.
