Have you noticed that the songs in the top billboard charts are 90 percent hip hop?

Yes, I probably noticed this around 1991.

    For the last 20 years..

    ...or is it 30?

No, because I haven't paid attention to the charts in decades.  All the good music isn't mainstream.

I don't look at Billboard charts, not even when I was a teenager. I know what I liked and what I like, and what other people like make no difference to me. Of course, I do read what the critics like and not like, and give the songs and artists they like a try to see if I like them too. Long ago I heard some rap when people played them loud when they drive. And I didn't like what I hear. I have heard rap songs a few more times since then, and they have not changed my mind. I still do not like rap.

It's a good place to keep that slop, I'll never hear it.

I don't pay attention to what songs are on the charts. Chances are, they're commercial crap which all sound the same.
