    A 1500 motor?

1500 sounds like a pickup classification (1/2 ton).

They had 350s in pickups for many years.

The Chevy 350 motor was probably the most mass produced V8 engine in America, if not the world from it's infancy in the '50s to the LS1, and it's been used in so many different applications that it's too long to post here. Your question is far too vague to answer it effectively.

No. A 350 is a 5.7L. The number 1500 doesn't refer to engine size but instead refers to the cargo capacity of a pickup truck being 1,500 pounds.  As for 350s, the "350" means the engine volume is 350 cubic centimetres, which when converted to metric equals 5.7 liters. Now, you can't exactly translate that in power because engines nowadays get a lot more power out of a smaller size than they did back when 350s were made. Today's stock 5.0L, for example, yields far more horsepower than any stock Chevy 350 ever did.
