    Let the downward force applied to the end of the pipe closest to the rope to keep the pipe horizontal is F Newton, By taking the torque at the point where the rope is tied:

    =>F x 1.7 = 50 x 9.8 x {(4/2) - 1.7}

    =>F = 86.47 Newton
