Is the anus part of the large intestine? Or is it an organ itself? What about the colon and rectum? Are they individual organs too?

The anus is not an organ at all. It is the opening. It consists of nothing.

"Colon" is another name for the large intestine. Mostly, the rectum and anus are considered parts of the colon.

If you cut a large intestine in half, would you call each half a semi-colon?
