Why do people use hand sanitizer for Corona virus?

Viruses are not alive.

    To keep down germs or clean off. Of course it may not seem like it works because you rub it in when really germs can still be there but it's still better than nothing.

  • VIruses are not alive, but they are contagious and covid 19 is very contagious. If an infected person coughs or sneezes on their hands, soap and water isn't readily available, hand sanitizer can be used to break down covid 19 before they touch other things or other people.

    Because hand sanitizer and soap and other "disinfectant" agents destroy the outer coating of the virus which incapacitates the virus and so it can no longer do what it was designed to do, which is to infect someone.
