I have a cruiser bicycle my husband recently bought me. It’s been almost 12 years since I rode one. I have everything down except turning and making sharp turns. Anyone have advice on how? I can’t seem to get it because when I turn, I end up falling. Here is a pic of my bike.

Well, how wide is your road?
I generally need a width that’s (at least) 3x the length of the bicycle to make a reasonably controlled, tight turn.
MTBers and BMXers sometimes lock the rear brake to skid the rear wheel and get around a tight corner quicker. Trial riders simply hop the bike around.

To add a slight correction to your description of the bike. Your husband bought you a BSO (bicycle shaped object) from Wally World (Walmart). You can TEST RIDE bikes from a real bicycle shop before the sale is finalized. Can't do that at discount stores. Ever wonder why? 🤔 Perhaps if both you and hubby were willing to spend more TIME and $$$, you would've found this isn't the right type or style of bike for you. Rule #1 when purchasing a bicycle - no test ride...NO $ALE.

Cruiser bikes are pretty much the hardest to control. Mild turns make sure you don't over steer and stay upright. No need to lean in as it's difficult to control the bike especially with those type of handlebars. Sharper turns you will need to lean in a little, but again, with the handlebars out so far that makes it difficult.
Also note that if you're going slow, turning can be more difficult. Get through your turns at not a snail's pace and you'll be better off.

Lean into the turns. Stick your leg out during a turn like they do in dirt bike races to catch you from falling until you get the turning figured out.
