Is a car with 300k miles worth fixing or should I get a used car?

Get a used car with less than 50,000 miles on it.

Depends on the cost of the repair.  Repair a leaking tire, sure. Replace a motor or transmission, probably not.

That depends, Mine has over 300,000 on it and it is well worth fixing because it is a 1963 classic. Is yours? No? Junk it and move on.

Do you really like the car?  Can you get a newer car that is just as good as the car you have?

Depending on what needs fixing,   A new engine/transmission may cost $5,000 -- but you will have a car ready to run another 200K miles.

Depends on what is wrong with it / how expensive. Also the make - Honda or Toyota; maybe I'd do the repair.

If it's a Honda or Toyota I would do the repair too.  Any other make I would junk it.
