Why did the war of 1812 start in 1812?

Did they plan it that way?

They wanted to start in 1811, but Tchaikovsky convinced them to wait for a year, somehow.

No. Wars are often named many years after then occur.

So that is remembered for happening in 1812.

Another war happened in the [Persian] Gulf.

WW1 was originally called The Great War. It was only called WW1 later when there was WW2.

The Hundred Years’ War wasn’t planned to be 100 years long when it started.

No the USA decided to usurp Canada while the British were fighting Napoleon and had left their wives to look after Canada,  the wives chased them down to New Orleans and burned the White House down so it wasn't meant to be a war them bloody women started it

Nope....just one of those weird historical coincidences.  Like the first time Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address, he was ACTUALLY in Gettysburg ??  How wild is that ?

Uh, yeah, the involved nations got together in advance and agreed to hold a war in the year 1812.

    Don't quit school, man.
