Anyone else go through a bottle of salt and pepper every week. I find that I have to buy a new bottle every week?

I find it very difficult to believe any home cook uses a "bottle" of salt and pepper a week.Troll somewhere else.

No, I use very little salt & pepper, I buy a 'season all' brand 'Aromat' made by Knorr, but even then, one small drum lasts us a long time.

A bottle a week is about ten thousand times normal usage. Talk to your doctor.

A 5 lb. box of kosher salt will last Me about 5 months-but I m a chef. I use a coarse grind black pepper. A 1 lb. bag lasts nearly as long.

I've never gone through an entire salt or pepper shaker. I toss them out after a few years and they're still 3/4 full.

HUH?  Bottle?  Morton Salt is about $0.90 for 26 ounces, lasts me 5 or 10 years.

I get pepper from Penzeys, a baggie, lasts me several months.

They must be small bottles. Or you're cooking for 20 people every day. Or just using too much.

  • That really ain't good for you if you are using that much salt.  A bottle of salt lasts me months.
