Do England and Japan have a lot in common? ?

Very old monarchies (particularly the Japanese), red and white on their flags...

Island nations with a long history of agriculture and fishing, both drive on the left, both have long term monarchies, the same colours on their flags, both think Trump is an idiot.

I don't know who first started saying that nonsense but I know the notion has been around for a long time, primarily because it's one of the topics that often appear in the entrance exams for Japanese colleges. Maybe that's because being compared to the UK would make us feel good.

Historically, you could note a few similarities, but a lot in common? Not really.
