what are prefaces used for in autobiographies?

The preface often gives thanks to people who encouraged and assisted in putting together the autobiography as well as loved ones who assisted the person the book is about to succeed in life.

Oh, Danno. Don't you ever get tired of posting these inane questions?
Surely there is more to your life than silly questions you ask incessantly. Then again, maybe you're just having fun trolling all of us.

Let's try something new...
Would you mind telling us why you feel the need to ask this same question over and over and over again?
How many times has this been answered already?
What was wrong with the responses you got the last ten times?
If you've got some sort of condition that we ought to know about, say so.
I'm working under the assumption that you're just really, really fecking stupid, but if you're suffering from some disorder, say so.
Enlighten us - why do you keep posting the same ridiculous nonsense every day?
