Dissociative identity disorder question about child-like alters?

I was learning about dissociative identity disorder and I noticed in videos of people who claim to have it, they often have a young child s persona somewhere in there. Why is it that the child sounds like they are a child when they speak (Ie the voice becomes more high pitched)

I ask this because when a child speaks they don t have to try to sound like a child, that s just what comes out. But a child in the body of an adult somehow makes themselves sound more child-like instead of just using the natural voice that comes out of the adult body.
