Why can’t someone under 21 go into a bar?

I’m pretty sure bars have other drinks besides alcohol.

All I can say the legal age to enter a bar varies from country to country. In most parts of the world the legal age is 18 while in the US of course it's 21.

The age variation can range from 15 to 25

Because bars serve alcohol, and the law says you have to be 21 to drink. It's easier just to allow adults of drinking age in bars.

    Yes bars have non-alcoholic drinks.

And besides, we all have to have somewhere to get away from people under 21 sometimes!

They might be able to in other countries, but law is law, and many Americans aren't

mature enough to handle alcohol at 21. Don't like it FartboyMD? Go cry to mommy.

Because their primary business is alcohol and if minors were allowed in then it wouldn't long before minors somehow managed to get an alcoholic drink. Plus adults like to go to places where minors aren't allowed simply for the purpose if getting away from them for a while.

They don't want them getting drunk and acting irresponsible like driving drunk, and more

Every state is different. Most states allow minors into establishments that serve food and alcohol but do not allow minors into establishments that derive the majority of their sales from alcohol.  Places that have live music usually make exceptions, 18 and up usually

As in so many cases, thats just what the law says. It doesnt matter whether theres other, legitimate reasons for someone under 21 to be in a bar, the law says they cant, and the bar owner can face fines or even jail time if caught breaking that law, so they have to abide by it.

Since you enjoy a paradox:  in most states including mine (Ohio) it's illegal for anyone under 21 to be in a bar or club where liquor is dispensed . . . . but it's OK to hit the gay bathhouse as soon as you are 18.  I finally decided that our legislators know that a bar is a place where bad decisions can be made, but the bathhouse is good clean fun.

It's just the law. A bar could lose its license if a minor was found on the premises. Even though a breathalyzer could be administered, there still would be no way to prove there was no intent to consume alcohol.
