Does guilt make someone suicidal?
My friend feels like it’s her fault that a loves one died and that she could have done something different to maybe help save her...just wondering..

Your friend needs a licensed mental health therapist because she is suffering from a form of complicated grief and perhaps is delusional.
She could start by contacting a local funeral director for the nearest Grief Counseling Group that meets regularly. It will help her very much to talk about this with other people who have suffered a similar loss in their lives.
This would be a healthy start and you can go with her if you choose.

Reasons for suicide can stem from anything, but the major reason is severe depression, not wanting to live anymore, and not seeing a way out of a bad problem or situation in life. Keep a close eye on your friend and make sure she's not showing sings of depression or saying she doesn't want to live. Tell her parents that your concerned about her and why.
