Is it true what republicans say, that being an EMT is not a marketable skill?
EMTs (ambulance crews) don’t make very much money and they don’t get health insurance through their job.
This was on PBS Newshour.
I’m not an EMT. But one of my former coworkers was an ambulance driver. He was on the fire department too. He didn't make a penny doing either. It’s all volunteer around here.

I don't know how much they make, but they do make people who have to use their services go broke.

You should join the fire department and be an emt. At least they are unionized. You deserve to be well compensated for your hard work and especially for the risks you take. I am shocked they don't give you medical. That's appalling.

My sister is an EMT, makes decent money and has full coverage healthcare. So...not sure. Maybe where you live it’s different.

It is a marketable skill, but there are too many of them so the pay sucks.
